About Us
Namaste & welcome to Santosha Yoga Studio. WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDE AN AUTHENTIC YOGA EXPERIENCE!
“Santosha” is a Sanskrit word that is divided into two parts: SAN (also known as SAM), means completely or entirely & TOSHA means acceptance, satisfaction & contentment. Together they create a word that means ‘in complete contentment’.
A yogic percept of living, Santosha is the second Niyama (personal ethic) on the eight-limbed path of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras. The scripture sets Santosha as an ‘abhayasa’ meaning ‘practice’. It is that practice that encourages a feeling of gratitude & abundance allowing us to look deeper to form a strong & positive relationship with ourselves & to uncover true happiness.
At Santosha Yoga, we practice with a feeling of fullness, we practice acceptance & set an intention to appreciate where we are, how far we have come & all that we have to look forward to. As we create this space to journey inward where our external circumstances meet our internal expectations, we drop the ‘need’ to be more flexible, strong or powerful, it is then, that we feel guided into being healthy, calm, balanced & truly content.
The abhayasa or practice of yoga is a dynamic expression of life, a lifestyle of greater awareness, kindness & compassion & it is then alike the Lotus one can unfold, expand & blossom to life’s full potential.
Our format of practice is a traditional & authentic form of integrated Hatha Yoga, a holistic sequenced system for energizing the mind, body & spirit. Our classes are set in a non-competitive & non-judgmental environment & ideal for all levels of yoga enthusiasts from beginners to advanced practitioners.
Thank you for visiting our website, we look forward to seeing you in our virtual class soon.

Chandana Mannem
Chandana's interest in Spirituality began at a very young age.
After attending a couple of Art of Living yoga sessions about 12 years ago, she was amazed at the deep rest & union that happens when the movement is coordinated with the breath.
The passion for yoga inspired her to become a certified yoga instructor with Sri Sri School of Yoga.
She wishes to share the holistic discipline of yoga she has learnt & benefitted immensely from with everyone.

Ruma Baruah
Ruma’s quest to have both a healthy mind & body began several years ago. This search ended when she met her wonderful mentor Milauni Nagar, who showed her the beautiful path of yoga.
Ruma noticed how yoga helped her attain a perfect balance of physical, mental & spiritual health.
This transformation encouraged her to go deeper into the practice & she took the Teacher Training Program under the Sri Sri School of Yoga.
She was amazed at the holistic approach taught at the school. An approach which combined the ancient yoga practices with the modern teachings about the human body.
The training made her realize that yoga does not need to be complicated & that even simple asanas can be very beneficial for one's health.
Ruma is now a certified yoga instructor & her goal is to spread this knowledge & bring as many people from all background to this beautiful path of holistic yoga.
